Tommy John Surgery

Tommy John SurgeryTommy John surgery can be defined as an ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction also called UCL in which doctors replace the ligament in the medial elbow with a tendon from elsewhere in the body (often from the forearm, hamstring, knee, or foot of the patient). The procedure is named after Tommy John, who was a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers who was operated by Dr. Frank Jobe in 1974.
